Well, it’s 2026. And you know what that means? It’s the year of the horse! Plus there is the first Full Moon of the new year tomorrow at the time of my writing. Now seems like the most appropriate time to release some artwork of my shapeshifting original character, Mercedes Knight.
This artwork by the ever talented June Ferrell was drawn back in 2020 as a gift. She liked to surprise me with drawings of my original characters, particularly Mercedes Knight and her boyfriend Steve McQueen, and also Tessa The Tigress, the femme fatale from my Sid Tanner manuscripts. I have sat on this and various other artpieces for years, as the fantasy manuscript starring Mercedes and Steve is not yet ready for submission to my publisher. But now that I’ve released a single based on their story, Boy Meets Girl (Who Turns Into A Horse), I see no need to keep these drawings underwraps.
Here we see Mercedes Knight against a stellar background. And yes, even as a horse, Mercedes always wears her prized wristwatch. I also offer some alternate versions of this artpiece.
